Could you use a new gratitude practice? We've been trying to think of ways to incorporate gratitude into our everyday life—especially for 2022! It's always a helpful reminder to take inventory of what God has given us. Not only does it brighten our day and put a smile on our faces, but it gives God the credit He deserves. Our relationship with Him is strengthened when we pause and consider all of the blessings He has given us. 

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to incorporate our own "Galentine's Day" DIY craft into the holiday. This brings us to our piece of exciting news—we're hosting a Valentine's Day Bible Trivia Live Event in our Love in Faith Facebook group! We couldn't be more excited. In this event, we'll be sharing more about these DIY Gratitude Jars and how we're decorating them for this festive holiday. So mark your calendars for January 27th at 12pm PST!  

Let's get onto the craft, shall we?

DIY Craft Essentials

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

The supplies for this craft are very simple—a pair of scissors, our DIY template, a jar, and some tape. Of course, you're always welcome to pretty yours up and add fabric to the top of the jar, add heart stickers, etc. Feel free to be creative!

Step One

Download the template PDF here, then print it out. 

Step Two

Once your three papers are printed, you'll see one of the pages has a big square with a Bible verse at the top. This will be the banner for your jar. Cut it out and wrap it around the outside of your jar, securing it with tape in the back. 

Step Three

Next, you'll see a chart with squares designed for you to fill out what you're thankful for. If you'd like, you're welcome to pray over this and ask God to bring to mind what He's given you. It could be super simple. For example, today we're thankful for the sunshine and our jobs! Fill out the template, then cut out each individual square and drop it in the jar—et voila! You have your very own gratitude jar that you can use to sit back and reflect on the goodness of God.
