Goal setting always seems to be the theme of January, right? With the beginning of the new year comes the anticipation of a fresh start, as we envision what is to come, and what could be. As Christians, we know that God is in control and has ultimately set the course for the year, but that doesn't mean we can't best prepare ourselves for His plan. We love creating vision boards to remind us of where we're headed. Whether it's charting out our goals for the year, favorite passages of Scripture, or images that resonate with those goals, it's such a creative way to enter into a new chapter in life.

We firmly believe God created seasons in life for a reason—for us to take a moment, reflect, and set new goals for the future. It's 2022. A new year, a new opportunity to learn more about Jesus and tell others about it. What a blessing!

Here are some of our favorite motivational Bible verses to add to your vision board for this new year.

1. With God, All Things Are Possible

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” - March 10:27

With God, all things are possible! What a verse! We love this reminder that Jesus gives us in the book of Mark. No matter what goals you have set for the next year, whether it's to read the Bible every day, cultivate deeper relationships with our loved ones, or share the Gospel with a coworker, we can trust that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. So keep on dreaming big! God wants us to bring Him into our everyday lives, and that means our goal-setting, too.

2. Our Commitment to One Another

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” - Hebrews 10:24-24

Here we're reminded of our commitment to one another in Christ. We are to encourage one another to grow in our faith and live as Jesus would. That's what a fellowship is, after all. We all have a common end goalto share the love of God with others and proclaim His name to those in our lives, that they may be saved.

 3. The Ultimate Goal

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14

When we're going about our daily lives, it can be so, so easy to get caught up in the monotony of it all. Getting up at the sound of the alarm clock, getting the kids ready, fitting in a quick gym session, logging into work, etc. After days of the same routine, we can quickly lose sight of our overall mission as believers. This adventure we're on is headed toward a culmination point—Jesus' return and our eternity spent with Him. It's a goal worth pressing towards until our last breath.

4. Be Strong and Courageous

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6

Have a big job interview coming up? How about an intimidating work project? Or even something personally going on with your family. Whatever mountain you're faced with right now, the Lord is with you. This verse reminds us that we are never alone. We have the assurance that Jesus is at our side every step of the journey. Because of that, this verse deserves a spot front and center of our 2022 vision board.

5. Seek His Face

“Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” - 1 Chronicles 16:11

Short and to the point, this verse urges us to seek His face in all situations. In good times, and not-so-good times. What is God trying to reveal to us through this circumstance? Remember, God will not always be loud and clear with His message for you. Sometimes we must slow down, spend some time in silence and solitude to hear that still small voice.

6. Be Transformed

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2

Stand firm in your convictions, friends! We're reminded here how easy it is to conform to the ways of this world. Hold fast to truth and remember what Jesus has to say. Throughout our life, we encounter trials that test our faith, and with the aid of the Holy Spirit, we make our way through these trials and hopefully, become more like Jesus. With more and more experience we will be able to test and know what God's will is—how cool is that?

7. God is My Salvation

"Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation." - Isaiah 12:2

This is a fantastic verse to memorize, but also to have on your vision board. Every day we're faced with many reasons to fear. We look at our phones or turn on the tv and see countless reasons to worry or doubt. Here the prophet is telling us to not fear, as God is our salvation. He is our strength and our song. The imagery here is beautiful, reminding us that we can overcome anything through Christ who strengthens us.

8. Fruit of the Spirit

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23

It's always helpful to have the fruits of the spirit memorized, so here they are! The Holy Spirit's presence is a gift to us—the gift of God's constant presence and influence. Here we see who we can become through the Holy Spirit. We can become a person of deep peace, someone who is unfailingly kind, and the list goes on!
